Vidyadhar Mallik is a former minister for federal affairs and local development as well as health and population. He held those portfolios between March 2013 and February 2014 under the interim government that held historic elections for second Constituent Assembly.
Mallik has served as a top government official in various ministries. He was finance secretary between August 2006 and June 2008. Prior to that, he served as peace secretary. He was education secretary between June 2003 and March 2005. A former advisor to Nepal’s first President Ram Baran Yadav, he holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University. His book, Modern Tax System of Nepal, was published in 2002. He is also a former chairperson of Public Administration Association of Nepal and Member Secretary of Nepal Transition to Peace Institute.
